Earlier this year, Xiaomi expanded its mid-range Redmi Note series. Initially the 4G variant of Redmi Note 10 series was launched and now the company has come up with 5G variants. The big differences between the 4G and 5G counterparts are chipset, faster charging and a better protected display with slightly altered back design and camera island. Display and Design
The Note 10 5G features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. Unlike the pro variant, this device only supports a 90Hz refresh rate. However, you are getting a smart switching variable refresh rate. This means that depending on the content you are viewing, the phone will automatically select the best-fit refresh rate between 30, 50, 60 and 90 Hz and saves battery life. Also, you can disable this feature and use a steady refresh rate.
In terms of design, the phone comes with a center punch hole display design. It looks elegant with an AG matte back panel and 3D four curved side body. Likewise, it is available in four colors namely Bamboo azurite, Nebula Ash, Sunny Mountain Blue and Moon Shadow Silver.
Moreover, the phone measures 161.8 x 75.34 x 8.92 mm in dimension and weighs 190g.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, the Note 10 5G is driven by MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor. It is a 5G chipset based on a 7nm fabrication process which supports 5G SA and NSA dual-mode networks. The chipset constitutes a 2x Cortex A76 large core clocked at 2.2GHz and 6xCortex A55 small core with 2.0Ghz frequency. It depends on Mali-G57 MC2 GPU for rendering graphics.
Further, the phone comes with 4 different memory configurations with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. On AnTuTu benchmark, the device exceeds over 690,000 points according to the company.
The phone runs on Android 11 operating system out-of-the-box with MIUI 12.5 user interface.
Camera
For the camera department, the smartphone comes with an 8MP front facing camera and dual rear camera. Here, the primary lens is a 48MP f/1.79 lens accompanied by 2MP f/2.4 depth snapper. It supports four in one pixels and the night scene for better photography. Similarly, the camera app supports different filters and shooting modes.
Battery and miscellaneous
In terms of battery capacity, the handset packs a 5,000mAh battery. It supports only 18W fast charging via USB Type-C.

The 6/128, 8/128, 8/256GB variants are priced at 1,199 Yuan, 1,399 Yuan and 1,599 Yuan, respectively. We expect the Redmi Note 10 5G price in Nepal to start at NPR 34,000 if and when it launches here.
