POCO M3 Launched in Nepal with Refreshed Design & Massive Battery
Poco Nepal successfully launched Poco M3 in Nepal. It is a new mid-range smartphone and is a successor to the relatively recently popular Poco M2 which was launched earlier in Nepal. The M3 brings itself with redesigned rear design and a Snapdragon chipset instead of MediaTek. It offers powerful specifications, a rich feature set and a price tag that’s quite competitive. Poco M3 Overview
Display and Design
The handset features the same 6.53” IPS LCD waterdrop / dot-drop display as M2. The display has an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and comes with standard 60Hz refresh rate. It also comes certified with TUV Rheinlands’ Low Blue Light Certification. Likewise, protecting the display is a Gorilla Glass 3.
Poco has completely revamped the back design on this new model, making it more recognizable and youth-centric. The dual-tone anti-fingerprint textured back features a triple camera module. The rectangular camera housing is placed on the top left corner whereas the camera unit is further placed inside an elongated all black housing with a POCO logo on its right. This design approach is similar to the recently launched OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 special edition smartphone. Moving on, the fingerprint sensor is located on the right side, with the phone’s volume buttons placed just above it.

Camera
Unlike the M2, which featured a quad camera, M3 comes with triple camera setup. Surprisingly, the company has removed the ultrawide lens which can be seen in its predecessor. But to compensate, Poco M3 comes with a large 48MP f/1.79 primary sensor. Keeping the company are other two 2MP sensors dedicated for macro shoot and depth sensing. The handset also gets an 8MP selfie camera.
Performance and Memory
Underneath the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor clocked at 2.0Ghz. It is an octa-core processor fabricated on an 11nm process with an Integrated mid-range Adreno 610GPU. The SoC is further paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB (UFS 2.2) of storage. The 64GB storage is based on UFS 2.1.
Software front is handled with MIUI 12 based on Android 10 and the Poco launcher. The phone will soon get an update for Android 11 as well.
Battery and Miscellaneous
The hero of this smartphone is the super large battery inside. The Poco M3 features a massive 6000mAh battery. It is the first phone from Xiaomi with this capacity of battery and is a significant upgrade from 5000mAH found on its predecessor. Surprisingly, even after increasing the battery, the company has managed to keep the weight the same as M2 (198gm). Notably, the phone still supports 18W charging and will even charge other devices at 18W rate with correct cable.
You also get stereo speakers, IR blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C for charging.
